Out of the blue, David LISS Parfums, based in Paris, contacted me to enquire whether I’d be interested in reviewing one of their releases. I said nope. HA!
How could I refuse such an offer?
A few weeks later, Fabulous Men arrived, and the puns began. I couldn’t help but think of it as the essence of Fabulous Men, distilled for my spritzing pleasure, rather than a fragrance called Fabulous, designed for men. And so I proceeded to put it on high rotation and it’s a delight.
To my blunt antipodean nose, Fabulous Men is such a *French* scent. It is disarmingly elegant in its construction. After a classically cool bergamot opening, not messed with at all, Fabulous casually tosses a leather jacket over its shoulder before dinner, where candles burn warm and low and perhaps there’s a Gauloise for the stroll home along the Seine.
It’s all rather… fabulous, and the subtle inclusion of heliotrope adds a confident embrace of femininity that takes Fabulous to another level.
For anyone searching for a Father’s Day gift beyond a department store counter (or sausage strewn hardware store), I urge you to ship Fabulous Men over from Paris (yes they might be a bit late but that’s chic in a Parisian way as well, right?). Thank you @davidlissparfums for sending this scent across the sea to me. Any more suave, Gauloise-smoking men in touch with their inner flower you want to package up will be gratefully received also.
